What to check at the viewing
The seller says it's under 3,500 kg, which is what lets you drive it on a B licence. Check the plated weight on the vehicle itself, and remember that seven people plus water and luggage can take a 3,500 kg motorhome close to its limit. Seven berths but six belted seats, so one sleeper can't travel. At 100,000 miles, ask for service history on the Transit, especially the cambelt, clutch and gearbox. A 2008 Hymer CL682 on the Ford Transit, built for a family: bunk beds across the back for the kids, a big double over the cab, and two separate dinettes that each make up into another bed, so it sleeps seven with six belted seats. There's a washroom with a separate shower cubicle, a kitchen with a gas hob, sink and fridge, cab air conditioning, a smart TV, a roof fan and an awning, and a four-bike rack on the back. The Hymer woodwork and upholstery look well kept in the photos, and the seller says it's always been stored in a shed. Recent spending includes a 300Ah lithium leisure battery for off-grid trips, four new Continental VancoCamper tyres, the roof fan and a made-to-measure mattress for the lower bed. It shows 100,000 miles (about 160,900 km) on a manual Transit, the CVRT is new and runs to May 2027, and the seller says it's under 3,500 kg, so it can be driven on a standard B licence. Why we like it: A proper family motorhome at a fair price for its age: six berths, a separate shower, Truma heating and a big rear garage, with only 48,000 miles on a 2.4 Transit. The owners have looked after it (winter services, stored indoors) and have already added solar, skylights and a reversing camera.
