How we score every camper
Every vehicle we consider is checked against the same 100-point standard, split across six weighted categories, before we decide whether it's worth your time. Here's exactly how it works.
Price & value
How the asking price compares to similar vehicles currently on the Irish market — condition, spec, and age adjusted.
Paperwork & registration
Motor caravan status on the logbook, CRW/CVRT standing, tax status, and — for imports — whether VRT has actually been resolved.
Condition & maintenance evidence
Service history, habitation checks, and documented gas/electrical inspections — not just a seller's word for it.
Conversion & build quality / safety
Who did the conversion, how it was done, and whether belted seats, gas, and electrical systems meet a reasonable safety bar.
Useability & spec
Berths, layout, water/power capacity, and whether the spec actually matches how it's being marketed (e.g. 'family camper' claims).
Seller transparency
Whether the seller disclosed issues up front, answered questions directly, and provided real photos of the actual vehicle.
Hard qualification gates
A high score doesn't override a hard gate. Unresolved legal or registration status, undisclosed structural damage, or a seller who won't confirm basic facts means a vehicle is rejected regardless of how well it would otherwise score. See Listing Standards for the full list.
What the labels mean
90–100
The best of what we find. Exceptional value, paperwork, and condition.
82–89
A strong, safe buy with no meaningful red flags.
75–81
Worth a look — a genuinely good option with a minor caveat or two.
68+, unverified
Promising, but we're still waiting on confirmed facts (paperwork, service history, etc.) before we'd stand behind it fully.
